Project Info
Project Name: Vikki Digital Bank
Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Designer: Vikki Digital Bank
In the evolving landscape of financial environments, where spatial design increasingly reflects broader cultural and technological shifts, Vikki Digital Bank articulates a clear design language rooted in culture, layout, and material expression. The project moves beyond conventional banking interiors, presenting a spatial composition that is both structured and fluid - an embodiment of digital transformation translated into physical space.
At the level of planning, the layout departs from the linear, counter-dominated arrangements typical of traditional banks. Instead, Vikki Digital Bank adopts an open, multi-zonal configuration where functions are distributed across a carefully calibrated grid. Circulation flows are optimized to encourage intuitive movement, while distinct zones - self-service areas, consultation points, lounge seating, and the Vikkafe coffee shop - are seamlessly interconnected. This spatial strategy reduces hierarchy, allowing users to navigate the environment freely while maintaining clarity and operational efficiency. Standing tables, flexible seating clusters, and adaptable partitions contribute to a dynamic environment that can accommodate both individual transactions and larger social interactions. The minimization of traditional service counters further enhances spatial continuity, replacing fixed barriers with more permeable, user-friendly interfaces.

Layered zoning balances functionality and openness, guiding users through a seamless banking experience

Vikki Digital Bank’s design narrative is shaped by the convergence of digital transformation, advanced technology, and green innovation, enriched by the aesthetic essence of Indochine culture. Rather than adopting a purely technological expression, the space is layered with cultural references through curated artistic graphics and artworks inspired by Indochina’s heritage. Traditional motifs are reinterpreted in a contemporary visual language, appearing across surfaces, digital displays, and decorative elements. This integration creates a dialogue between past and present - where cultural identity is not preserved as ornament, but reimagined as an integral part of a modern, immersive banking experience.

Artistic layers inspired by Indochine heritage bring warmth and identity to a technology-driven space
Materiality, in turn, anchors the design in both identity and experience. The bank’s signature blue palette is applied with precision, appearing across key surfaces and elements to establish visual coherence while signaling trust and professionalism. This is balanced by lighter, neutral finishes that amplify natural and artificial light, creating a sense of openness and accessibility. Glossy surfaces, glass partitions, and metallic accents introduce a technological clarity, while softer materials within seating areas provide tactile contrast and comfort.

Material contrasts define the experience - clean, reflective elements paired with warm, tactile comfort
Lighting and digital media are integrated as material components of the space rather than applied features. LED panels, illuminated surfaces, and dynamic displays interact with architectural forms, enhancing depth and perception. Patterned chandeliers and neon accents introduce rhythm and visual layering, reinforcing the contemporary identity while guiding spatial orientation.

Integrated lighting transforms architecture into a dynamic, interactive visual field
The result is a cohesive design system where form and materials work in tandem to support both function and experience. By rethinking layout hierarchies and material applications, Vikki Digital Bank establishes a new spatial typology for financial environments that is open, adaptable, and aligned with the expectations of a digitally driven society.
